Lincoln Lofts

A joint venture between Chase Development and Birge & Held proposes to redevelop the approximately 1.62 acre site known as the Abraham Lincoln School located at the intersection of Palmer Street and Barth Avenue in the Bates Hendricks Neighborhood. The proposed project, an affordable apartment community, will offer up to 157 residential living units with a mix of studios, one, two, and three bedroom units.

The project includes amenities complimentary to an urban, healthy living strategy for the site.  Each unit is planned to include an outdoor patio or balcony space.  The development will contain a roof deck overlooking downtown Indianapolis.  Additionally, the site is only two blocks from the IndyGo Redline and located within a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) overlay.  An associated bike path and accessibility to Garfield Park to the south and the Fountain Square Entertainment District to the North also compliment the project.  The proposed development further extends a healthy living strategy for its residents by including other recreational opportunities such as a fitness center, game rooms, and a club room with kitchen, conference areas and computer rooms. The roof deck amenity will also contain ample seating, a grilling area, and other activities.

Total investment into the project is $33,136,032.  Project partners include the State of Indiana, the City of Indianapolis, and Merchants Bank.
